Never drink water from your nightstand, here's why

 

Many people have the habit of putting a glass of water in the nightstand when going to sleep, it might be because you feel thirsty in the middle of the night or you just drink water in the morning, right after they wake up. Probably your parents have told you that it is very healthy. And yes it's healthy to drink water on an empty stomach just after you've woken up.

If you've done or doing this, probably you have noticed that the water tastes very strange. Ever wondered what happened to the water? Well, there is large amount of dust and bacteria that can be gathered in that glass of water.

When water is exposed to air it absorbs carbon dioxide and a small part of that CO2 is converted into carbonic acid, which means that water exposed to the air changes its chemical composition. So, when carbon acid releases one or two protons and is turned into carbonate or bicarbonate, it lowers the pH of water and changes its taste.

Risks of drinking this water

Since the water might be contaminated, you might show symptoms of gastrointestinal illnesses, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea and abdominal pains. It might take 48 hours for symptoms to show up.

If you have a problem of feeling thirsty in the middle of the night and don't want to wake up, go to the kitchen. Try to put your water on a bottle, I recommend Bpa bottles.

After reading this, surely you will think twice if you should or should not drink it.
